BeSeTo Theatre Festival 29 + Bird Theatre Festival 18

"The BeSeTo Theatre Festival" has been held annually on a rotating basis since 1994, through the solidarity of theatre practitioners from Japan, China and South Korea. The “Be” in BeSeTo comes from Beijing, the “Se” from Seoul, and the “To” from Tokyo. Since 2019, Tottori has been the main Japanese host city. Representatives from each country deepen their exchanges and continue the festival while confirming the role of theatre within the context of each nation and the world.

"The Bird Theatre Festival" has been held annually since 2008. Centred around the Bird Theatre in Shikano Town, Tottori City, it expands across the entire town and neighbouring areas, including the establishment of temporary theatres. It has introduced a diverse range of stage works, not only outstanding contemporary theatre from Japan and abroad, but also circus, dance, puppet theatre, works involving people with disabilities, and pieces enjoyable for parents and children.
